Fundamentals of Ashtanga Yoga for Teachers
This workshop will be a part of 2017 Empowered Yoga Teacher Training, but we are opening it up to other teachers in the community.
This workshop has been created for yoga teachers and yoga teachers in training to supplement their current programs by bringing them a deeper understanding of the lineage which vinyasa yoga comes from and the traditional practice of Ashtanga yoga.
It will include:
- A Traditional Practice: Studies on the lineage of Ashtanga, its rich history and the beautiful life and teachings of Krishnamacharya & Pattabhi Jois.
- Ashtanga Yoga/ Eight Limbs: Teachings on the foundation of the practice through the understanding of the eight limbs.
- Breath & Prana: The breath and pranic practice. Movement Synchronized with breath to create flow & vinyasa.
- The Moving Meditation: Sequencing of a Traditional Practice, the asana sequence of ashtanga and studies on the vinyasa transitions.
Diana is the founder and director of Pacific Ashtanga Yoga Shala in Dana Point, CA. Diana is one of an honored group of students who studied with and received certification to teach the first and second series of Ashtanga yoga by its founder Shri K Pattabhi Jois, and his grandson, Sharat Rangaswamy, at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India.
